The export growth rate of leather industry has dropped for 3 consecutive years. In 2014, the main leather industry exported 88 billion 900 million US dollars, and the growth rate dropped 1.8 percentage points.

Among them, luggage accounted for 30.1% of the total exports of the industry, which led to the pfer of orders to foreign countries, and exports decreased by 1.7% compared with the previous year. The export growth rate of the industry to Europe and the United States and other traditional markets was low, while the export growth rate to emerging markets such as ASEAN and Africa was 11.6% and 19.1% respectively for the first time since 2009.

Among them, the industry's exports to the five Central Asian countries on the Silk Road Economic Belt surged by 85.9%, and Kazakhstan jumped to the seventh largest exporter of the industry. The prosperity of the border trade spurred the export of the provinces (regions) on the same economic belt, and Xinjiang grew by 84.5% compared to the same period last year, becoming the fifth largest export province in China. The export of Inner Mongolia and Ningxia doubled, and the growth rate reached 135.7% and 161.6% respectively.

In 2014, China's leather industry imported 9 billion 370 million US dollars and accelerated. The contribution of products to growth once again exceeded the import of raw materials. The consumption oriented Guangdong, which replaced the processing trade type of Shanghai, became China's first import major province (city), indicating that China's consumption structure changed. Shanghai and Guangdong accounted for 30% of the total imports. However, the import products were significantly different. Shanghai imported shoes, bags and other products, accounting for 87.5% of its total imports. Guangdong imports mainly raw materials such as finished leather, semi finished leather and tanned fur, accounting for 86% of its total imports.

Sales and profit growth continued to slow down, and cautiously optimistic about future development.
